It does get a bit easier with time because I know that anxiety lies. I know I’m stronger than my fear but I still get those dark thoughts questioning solo travel. I don’t know if they will ever go away but I know how to handle them. And I know the only thing that makes them get quieter is by continuing to not listen them and booking the trip anyway.

This isn’t me trying to be a smartass. I truly didn’t realize solo travel was an option for the majority of my life. And I missed out on a lot because of it.

I would think about all the places I wanted to visit and then get so bummed that I didn’t have anyone to go with. Quite literally the reason I even went to Europe for the first time is I had a friend who said she was planning on going for her birthday. My birthday was a day after hers and I immediately, basically, invited myself on her trip. Love you @txterryo!

Even then, it took me a couple of years to finally have something click - after a lot of signs from the universe - and I realized I COULD JUST GO MYSELF 🤯

Like, what a wild thing that I didn’t even think of!

One of the reasons I love hosting group trips is that you can sign up for one and you don’t have to wait for anyone else. No checking in with friends’ schedule, no need to see if your partner has enough PTO, and if someone flakes - you don’t even need to worry about it.

Many of my travelers who have gone on my trips, decide to plan their own completely solo trip after. It may be right after the group trip or maybe a couple months later. But the confidence they gain from taking that first group trip with me carries over and empowers them to continue to explore the world without waiting on anyone 💗

I picked the dates for this trip for a couple of reasons, not only is it a beautiful time to be in the city but also the tentative date for the Versailles Grand Masked Ball is June 15. This is a bucket list excuse to extend your trip! As an added bonus for the OGW Group Trips community, I’m going to be helping travelers who wish to extend their time in Paris to attend the ball make the required plans. Getting a group of us together to attend is going to be so much fun!

You may notice something very unique on this itinerary - a free day. Because there is so much to see and do in Paris, I’ve left an entire day open for you to choose your own adventure. When I started to prioritize travel and making sure it had a solid place in my monthly budget, suddenly everything I thinking about buying became plane tickets 😂😅 I thought of everything in terms of my next trip. Why grab a Starbucks when I could put that away for coffee in a cafe in Paris? New pair of shoes? That could be used for taking myself out to a really lovely dinner in Italy. It was like something clicked in my brain that made me rethink about how I viewed my spending habits.

I am delighted to share with you the next destination for OGW Group Trips in 2024, PARIS!

I adore Paris. I’ve been lucky enough to visit four times which makes is my most visited destination behind my heart home, Japan. Just like Switzerland, Paris was one of the places I visited on my first solo trip. So I knew I had to create this itinerary along side the one I designed for Switzerland.

🇫🇷 Sainte Chapelle Visit - One of the most beautiful chapels, the stained glass will take your breath away.
🇫🇷 Louvre - No visit to Paris is complete without a visit to this museum.
🇫🇷 Champagne Tour and Tasting - Day trip out to Champagne to not just one but two champagne houses to sample delightful bubbles.
🇫🇷 Versailles - Day trip to Versailles. I love Versailles, the palace is spectacular, the gardens are magical, and with the entire day there is so much to explore like Marie-Antoinette’s Hamlet.
🇫🇷 For the farewell dinner we will be on a beautiful river boat, cruising on the Seine past Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower and more!
