*Goes to Vegas, doesn't gamble* I've heard a lot *Goes to Vegas, doesn't gamble*

I've heard a lot of people say they don't want to go to Vegas because they don't gamble. Trust me, I totally get that - and I used to have the same feeling about this city.

But now I've visited three times and I have a totally different strategy when I plan a trip to Vegas.

First off, the food! There are thousands of restaurants here and there are some pretty damn good ones too. Picking out where I'm going to eat is one of my favorite parts of planning my visit.

The shows! Unless you are from another huge city like NYC you probably don't have the volume of entertainment that can be found in Vegas. Between artist residencies, world class productions like Cirque du Soleil, music festivals, touring Broadway shows there is never a dull moment.

Get off the strip! There is so much more to Vegas than just this one street. Just a few highlights: Red Rock Canyon, Seven Magic Mountains, Hoover Dam, and so many other neat outdoor spaces.

Museums! There's a ton of museums, galleries, and special exhibits. I wish I could list them all, but I'm running out of space.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of things to do in Vegas other than gambling but I hope it gives you a new perspective on a city that I once dismissed as not being for me.

Let me get honest with you - I get anxiety before Let me get honest with you - I get anxiety before every trip. No matter how big or how small. As I step out of my comfort zone I can hear the little voice telling me, "Home is better, home is safer. What if something bad happens?"

My mind will race through all the scenarios of everything that could go wrong on my trip. "What if there is a natural disaster? What if I get hurt? What if I get sick? WHAT IF!?"

This is why I'm so happy that I have added @travelwithcap Travel Coverage to my trips [AD]. CAP goes beyond my travel insurance to get me help immediately on my trip. CAP has a 24/7 Assistance Hotline to get me the help I need. They'll advise, send specialized medical or security support, and coordinate my emergency transportation or evacuation.

Best of all there’s no time-consuming claim filing process for reimbursements – nor is there a copay or deductible. It’s easy. CAP customers pay a flat-fee plan upfront, and the CAP team handles the rest.

With CAP I'm able to Travel Fearlessly and leave my anxiety behind.

There is so much that CAP covers, check out their website to see it all and use code CAPLM to get 20% off coverage for your next trip.

My favorite Cashmere Travel Wrap from @whiteandwar My favorite Cashmere Travel Wrap from @whiteandwarren is now in a beautiful new color: Grapefruit! [sponsored]

This 100% Cashmere Travel Wrap is like being hugged by a cloud - it is so soft! It is perfect to throw on over a dress on a night out or snuggle up in for an early morning coffee on the patio.

And, of course, it's the best on a chilly plane. Traveling from Austin to Colombia I was wearing a light dress and this Travel Wrap kept me cozy on my flight. It's huge (81" x 36") so it can do double duty as a blanket.

Fantastic news: I have a 20% discount that is good for the entire White and Warren site. Just use code: Linds20 when you checkout - psst! Mother's Day is coming up.

One of the things that I love about @whiteandwarren and why I'm so happy to work with them is their commitment to sustainability. All of their cashmere is 100% traceable and is produced with transparent and ethical environmental standards. I firmly believe in supporting companies and bands that work towards helping keep this planet beautiful for generations to come.

Head over to my stories today, I'm posting a little lookbook from my trip to Colombia. And be sure to check out the @whiteandwarren page and website to see all the colors the Travel Wrap comes in.

I'm going to be super honest, Colombia was not on I'm going to be super honest, Colombia was not on my radar. I signed up for this @trovatrip because my good friend and coach @timeofdre was co-hosting.

I know Dre and the community she surrounds herself in and I trust TrovaTrip because they are also my group trip partner. So it was a no brainer to sign up even if it wasn't a destination that I was familiar with.

And let me tell you! I'm so happy I did. I met incredible like-minded travelers (some of us are already trying to meet up again soon), ate delicious food, let loose in a salsa class, explored vibrant Cartagena, and made so many fun memories.

This trip has gotten me so excited for the trips I'm hosting this year, My first one, Costa Rica, is just a couple weeks away and if I thought I was excited before - wow!

Have you ever gone on a group trip? What was your experience like?

PS: Wanna see my trip? I'm posting about it all over stories and there's a Cartagena highlight.

"Are you a budget traveler or a luxury traveler?" "Are you a budget traveler or a luxury traveler?"

I kinda hate this question because who isn't trying to get the best travel experience for their money? Who doesn't want to fly across the globe but not pay thousands of dollars? Who doesn't want to stay in a beautiful accommodation but not empty their wallet?

I don't think I fall into either category. Yes, I do budget travel - staying in capsule hotels in Japan, overnight trains in Thailand, grocery store meals in Switzerland. But I also do some luxe travel - five star hotels, Michelin star restaurants, that one time I flew business class.

I recently realized that I'm an experience traveler. I value having experiences and some of those opportunities I will pay extra for or sometimes actually pay less.

I don't think you have to choose between budget or luxury, you just have to decide what experiences you want to have and then work your travel fund around them.

That's the power of travel hacking, it lets me save on things I don't want to pay a ton for so I can use that money for the experiences that mean the most to me. And it's given me access to experiences that money alone would be out of the question for me.

Are you an experience traveler?

Cruising Misconceptions vs My Experience on @royal Cruising Misconceptions vs My Experience on @royalcaribbean Wonder of the Seas

I'm guilty (like most people) of having judgements about travel. Sometimes it's about a destination, an activity, or even a whole sector of the travel industry.

I walked onto my first cruise with a lot of ideas of what to expect and came away from the experience completely surprised.

🚢Cruises are for old people - While I think cruises are fantastic for the older crowd, cruising is certainly not exclusively for them. There were many activities and features of the ship to ensure that any age had a great time.
🚢The food is bad - This was so far from the truth! I was not only impressed by the variety of food offered but also the quality. And I didn't need to spend extra at the specialty restaurants, the meals in the main dining rooms and the buffets were excellent.
🚢There's nothing to do - There is too much to do! The schedule was packed with activities.
🚢The entertainment is cheesy - It takes a lot to impress me, I worked in theatre for over a decade and I can tell you the entertainment was top notch.
🚢It's tedious to get on and off the ship - I found the process to be easy and quick even with thousands of passengers.
🚢The rooms are uncomfortable - I was so wowed by the balcony room I was in that I've actually looked up if I can buy the bedding (you can!)

My biggest lesson: Don't be so quick to judge, you may miss out on an incredible experience.

If you want to see my time on Royal Caribbean, head over to my highlights.

How you can book a cruise using points: 🚢 AMEX How you can book a cruise using points:

🚢 AMEX, Chase, and Citi offer cruises through their travel portal and you can use points to pay.
🚢 Use Hyatt points to book a cruise with Lindblad Expeditions.
🚢 The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is a part of the Marriot Bonvoy program and you can earn and redeem points on bookings.
🚢 United lets you redeem miles for cruises, including Disney.
🚢 Some cruise lines have their own co-branded credit cards which give you points on every purchase to book crusies.

These are just a few options on how you can utilize points and miles to pay for your next cruise.

Keep in mind that you will want to calculate the value you are receiving for these points and miles when you book a cruise as this is not always the best redemption. It might be better to use those points for the flight to the port.

And if you decide to just pay cash for your cruise, be sure to use one of your travel credit cards so that you are banking points to go towards your next trip and consider using an airline's travel portal to earn additional miles on your booking.
