The Travel Shoes I Swear By

Shoes take up the most amount of space in your bag. They can also make or break your trip. With the wrong kind of shoes you could be laid up in your AirBnB with a bag of frozen peas on your foot instead of enjoying your vacation.

Aquatalia Boots
I love Aquatalia boots because they check off everything I need in a travel shoe. I personally own the Oralie boots, which they sadly do not make any more but these are a similar style.. They are super comfortable, I’ve walked miles on city streets in mine without any issues. They are also waterproof, so I don’t have any issues wearing them in bad weather. And they are really cute, I’ve worn them with jeans and dresses.

They are pricey. I bought my first pair on eBay gently used for a 1/5th of the retail cost. But I can tell you that if something were to happen to them today I would go out and buy another pair at full price. That is how much I love them.

My second pair I found on discount on Rue La La and I have also seen them on Gilt for less than retail.

Ugg Boots
Say what you will about this brand, their boots are warm and comfortable. I have a couple pairs of the Cardy style that have travelled with that have served me well. They also have expanded their style line so it’s not just shearling boots from the early 2000’s. You can also find these regularly on sale on sites like Rue La La, Gilt, and Nordstrom Rack.

Sanuk Yoga Slings
These are hands down the best, most comfortable sandals around. They have a cushy yoga-mat sole which is better than any insert I have been able to find. The straps are made out of a stretchy cotton material, so they dry quick and if you are like me and your feet swell in the heat they will stretch to accommodate so no blisters or pinching. They also come in a million colors and patterns. I will tell anyone who will listen about how much I love these sandals. They are available on Amazon, Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, and even REI. With the low price point you can treat yourself and buy two pairs.

Teva Capri
If you are looking for something a bit more dressy these Teva Capri sandals fit the bill. I like the comfortable foot bed as well as the velcro strap that makes them easy to adjust. They also come in a variety of colors.

Adidas Superstar
The salesman that helped me with these at Nordstrom called these BBQ shoes. I think he was worried I was going to try to run a marathon in them or something. These Adidas Superstar sneakers are super cute and very comfortable to walk in. I took my pair to Tokyo and between them and my Aquatalias my feet felt great.

Sorel Joan of Arctic Waterproof Boot
I’m a bit of a wuss when it comes to being cold, I live in Texas for a reason! So when I went to Switzerland and Germany over the winter I knew I needed it up my cold weather boot game. These Joan of Arctic boots from Sorel are the warmest and most cozy ever. You won’t have any issues keeping your toes toasty while you are frolicing in the snow with these on your feet. These are also regularly on sale on sites like Rue La La, Gilt, and Nordstrom Rack.
